Selling your Pathfinder in Fresno & Clovis
Pathfinders are family infrastructure in Fresno and Clovis — school runs, Highway 99 commutes, and weekend trips to the foothills. They pile up miles quietly, and a Nissan showing 160,000 or 200,000 miles isn’t unusual here. High mileage is normal for this model and priced into every offer we make.
The third-generation R51 Pathfinder (2005–2012) was truck-based and shared the Frontier platform, with an optional V8. The fourth-generation R52 (2013–2020) switched to a crossover layout with a CVT, and the fifth-generation R53 (2022–present) replaced the CVT with a nine-speed automatic.
Most Pathfinder owners call us at the same moment: a repair estimate lands — CVT failure on R52 models or radiator cooler mixing on R51 models — and the math stops working. Private buyers and listing sites punish warning lights and high miles. We check the real market for your Pathfinder’s year, trim, and condition and make one clear offer instead.
Nissan Pathfinder at a glance: 2005–2024 model years · midsize three-row SUV · every trim considered — what matters is that it starts, drives, and has a working key.

Common Pathfinder problems we still buy
Every Pathfinder develops its known issues with age, and these are the ones we see most. Private buyers walk away from every one of them; we price them in instead:
- CVT failure on R52 models. The 2013–2020 Pathfinder's continuously variable transmission is widely documented for shudder, slipping, and premature failure, and was the subject of class-action litigation and extended warranties. A CVT quote is the most common reason these are sold.
- Radiator cooler mixing on R51 models. Like the Frontier, 2005–2010 R51 Pathfinders can mix coolant and transmission fluid through a failed radiator cooler. The resulting transmission damage often totals an older SUV economically.
- Timing chain guide wear. The 4.0-liter V6 in R51 models wears timing chain guides and tensioners, producing a characteristic whine. The repair requires major engine disassembly that many owners decline.
- A/C, fan, and cooling faults on R52. R52 Pathfinders report A/C compressor failures, cooling fan issues, and rear air conditioning line problems. On a family hauler in warm weather, those repairs often trigger a sale.
Paperwork problems count too. If your Pathfinder failed its smog check, the registration has expired, or the title is lost or in someone else’s name, those pages explain how we handle each case — in most of them, we can still buy the car. We buy Pathfinders all over Fresno and Clovis and pay at pickup, with free towing inside the service area.
How we price Nissans, honestly: the trucks, the Pathfinder and Xterra, and the Z are the strong side of the brand. The cars are priced on the state of the transmission — the CVT's real condition and the miles on it decide the number, and we will show our work at review. A Nissan that drives right is a Nissan we want.
How selling your Pathfinder works here
Step 1
Tell us about your Pathfinder
One short form — year, model, mileage, and 12 quick condition questions. Honest answers are what let us hold the offer.
Step 2
Get one clear offer
We check the real market for your exact Pathfinder and send one offer — no instant lowball from a computer. If the vehicle matches its description, the offer is guaranteed for 7 days.
Step 3
We pick it up, you get paid
Free pickup in the Fresno–Clovis area, often as soon as the next day when scheduling allows. You sign, get paid at pickup, and hand over the keys — we handle the smog and DMV paperwork after the purchase.
One honest limit: the car does need to start and drive, and have a working key. Fixable problems are our specialty; a car that can’t move under its own power isn’t a fit.
Pathfinder seller questions
My Pathfinder failed smog and the registration is expired. Can I sell it?
Usually, yes. A failed smog check and back registration are two of the most common Pathfinder situations we handle — tell us about them in the application and they’re priced into the offer instead of stopping the sale. We handle the smog and DMV side after the purchase.
My Pathfinder has over 200,000 miles. Is that a problem?
High mileage alone doesn’t disqualify a Pathfinder — in the Valley it’s the norm for this model. If it starts, drives, and has a working key, report the mileage honestly in the application and we’ll price the whole car, not just the odometer.
My Pathfinder has CVT failure on R52 models. Will you still buy it?
Usually, yes — that is one of the documented Pathfinder issues, and it’s priced in, not rejected. The same goes for the rest of this model’s known list. What we can’t buy: no working key, a blown engine, a Pathfinder that won’t start or drive, or major structural damage.
My Pathfinder’s title is lost or in someone else’s name. Can I sell it?
Often, yes. Tell us the title situation in the application — lost titles, titles signed by a previous owner, and lien paperwork are situations we walk through every week, and we’ll explain the correct next step before scheduling pickup.
