Selling your BRZ in Fresno & Clovis
BRZs accumulate miles quietly in the Valley: long Highway 99 commutes, cars handed down to new drivers, and daily drivers that have simply outlasted two or three other cars in the same family. A Subaru showing 180,000 or 220,000 miles isn’t unusual here, and it isn’t a problem for us — high mileage is normal for this model and priced into every offer we make.
The first-generation BRZ (2013–2020) was co-developed with Toyota's 86/FR-S, a lightweight rear-drive coupe with a naturally aspirated 2.0L Subaru flat-four and a choice of six-speed manual or automatic. The second generation arrived for 2022 with a larger 2.4L flat-four, stiffer body, and updated styling while keeping the same front-engine, rear-drive formula. A sharper tS trim joined the range for 2024.
The usual trigger is a shop quote: valve spring recall and engine history (2013 cars) is common on the BRZ, and oil consumption and RTV concerns isn’t far behind it. Faced with that bill, most owners would rather sell the car as it sits. That’s our whole business — we price the problems in and make one clear offer, guaranteed for 7 days.
Subaru BRZ at a glance: 2013–2025 model years · sports coupe · every trim considered — what matters is that it starts, drives, and has a working key.

Common BRZ problems we still buy
The BRZ has a well-documented weak-spot list. Here it is — and every item on it is something we still buy:
- Valve spring recall and engine history (2013 cars). Early 2013 BRZs were covered by Subaru's valve-spring recall, a major engine-out service whose quality varied by dealer and which is central to any early car's history. Cars with unclear recall paperwork are hard to place, and some owners sell rather than sort out documentation.
- Oil consumption and RTV concerns. Flat-four Subarus can consume oil as they age, and the second-generation engine drew attention for excess room-temperature-vulcanizing sealant found in oil pickups on some cars. Monitoring and inspection are manageable, but owners who lose confidence in an engine sell the car to an enthusiast instead.
- Torque dip and direct-injection service (first generation). The 2.0L's well-known mid-range torque dip, plus combined port-and-direct injection service needs and spark plugs that are awkward to reach on the flat-four, make upkeep more involved than the car's size suggests. The accumulating specialist jobs lead some owners to sell rather than continue.
- Clutch, throw-out bearing, and synchro wear. Hard-driven manuals wear clutches and noisy throw-out bearings, and second-gear synchros can protest on cold shifts, all documented in the owner community. A clutch job plus driveline refresh on an aging coupe is a common point where owners decide to pass the car along.
Paperwork problems count too. If your BRZ failed its smog check, the registration has expired, or the title is lost or in someone else’s name, those pages explain how we handle each case — in most of them, we can still buy the car. We buy BRZs all over Fresno and Clovis and pay at pickup, with free towing inside the service area.
How selling your BRZ works here
Step 1
Tell us about your BRZ
One short form — year, model, mileage, and 12 quick condition questions. Honest answers are what let us hold the offer.
Step 2
Get one clear offer
We check the real market for your exact BRZ and send one offer — no instant lowball from a computer. If the vehicle matches its description, the offer is guaranteed for 7 days.
Step 3
We pick it up, you get paid
Free pickup in the Fresno–Clovis area, often as soon as the next day when scheduling allows. You sign, get paid at pickup, and hand over the keys — we handle the smog and DMV paperwork after the purchase.
One honest limit: the car does need to start and drive, and have a working key. Fixable problems are our specialty; a car that can’t move under its own power isn’t a fit.
BRZ seller questions
How fast can you pick up my BRZ, and when do I get paid?
Pickup can be as soon as tomorrow in the Fresno–Clovis area when scheduling allows, and you’re paid at pickup — after a quick check that the vehicle matches its description, you sign, get paid, and hand over the keys.
My BRZ failed smog and the registration is expired. Can I sell it?
Usually, yes. A failed smog check and back registration are two of the most common BRZ situations we handle — tell us about them in the application and they’re priced into the offer instead of stopping the sale. We handle the smog and DMV side after the purchase.
My BRZ’s title is lost or in someone else’s name. Can I sell it?
Often, yes. Tell us the title situation in the application — lost titles, titles signed by a previous owner, and lien paperwork are situations we walk through every week, and we’ll explain the correct next step before scheduling pickup.
What BRZ years do you buy?
We buy the Subaru BRZ across the 2013–2025 range, and we’ll look at older examples case by case. Condition matters more than the year — a high-mileage BRZ that starts, drives, and has a working key is exactly what the form is for.
