Classic BMW E30 buyers
Sell a Classic BMW E30, 1984–1991
The E30 is the classic BMW most sellers actually own — and the 325is and the M3 sit at the top of it, with ordinary sedans priced honestly below them.

325is and M3 at the top
At the top of the E30 ladder sit two cars, and the gap between them and the rest is real. The 325is coupe — the sportiest of the regular 3 Series cars — is the car enthusiasts name first among non-M E30s. Above it, in its own league, is the M3: the homologation coupe with the flared arches and the high-revving four-cylinder, built in small numbers and valued accordingly. A documented, original M3 is a serious car and is priced as one.
Documentation matters more on these two than anywhere else on this page. An M3 is priced as an M3 only where the inspection and paperwork confirm it is one; a car dressed as an M3, or a 325is claim without the car to back it, is priced as what it actually is.
Ordinary sedans: honest money, still wanted
Most E30s are not M cars. They are 318i and 325i sedans and convertibles, four-door family cars that have spent decades as daily drivers. Those cars are wanted — a complete, solid, well-kept E30 sedan is a genuine modern classic — but they are honest money, not M3 money, and we say so here rather than let an M3 headline mislead a sedan owner.
The condition bar from our classic BMW page applies with full force: a documented service history, a tight interior, working electrics, and no deferred maintenance are what earn a strong number. A neglected E30, however desirable the badge, is priced as a neglected car. The general rules sit on our classic car hub.
Completeness and selling an E30
Completeness comes first: engine, transmission, trim, and interior present, body not rusted through — and on an E30, rust in the floors, the rear arches, and the battery tray deserves an honest look before we visit. A complete car that does not run can be considered where the rest of the car justifies it, though the excellent-condition expectation still applies.
Tell us the model, year, mileage, and service history. We inspect the car where it sits in the Central Valley, explain what we found, and make an offer from the inspection. Free pickup, paid at pickup, no fees.
How selling a classic works here
Step 1
Tell us about your classic
One short form — year, model, and what is there and what is not. Photos help: the whole car, the engine bay, the interior, and any rust you know about.
Step 2
We inspect it in person
We come to the car and price what we can see — completeness, body and rust, spec, and documentation — not a formula. The offer follows the inspection, and it is guaranteed for 7 days when the car matches.
Step 3
We pick it up, you get paid
Free pickup in the Fresno–Clovis area. You sign, get paid at pickup, and hand over the keys and title — we handle the DMV paperwork after the purchase.
The classic exception: a complete classic that does not run — even one with a dead engine — can still be bought, because pre-computer cars can be overhauled and restoration is part of the process. Incomplete, or rusted through, is where we have to say no.
Classic seller questions
Which E30s are worth the most?
The M3, in its own league, then the 325is coupe. Documented originals are priced on confirmed identity; a car dressed as an M3 is priced as what it actually is.
Is my ordinary E30 sedan worth selling?
Yes, at honest money. A complete, solid, well-kept sedan is a genuine modern classic — just not an M3, and we would rather say that plainly than imply otherwise.
Why does service history matter so much on an E30?
Because these are European cars whose running costs punish deferred maintenance. Records prove the work was done, and an inspection prices proved maintenance differently from assumed maintenance.
My E30 does not run. Is it a candidate?
Possibly — if the rest of the car is genuinely good. Tell us why it stopped and how it was stored; the inspection will decide. An incomplete car or one rusted through is a no.
