Classic BMW buyers
Sell a Classic BMW
Classic BMW here means the modern classics from the seventies onward, led by the E30 — bought complete, in genuinely good condition, and priced by inspection.

The bench: E30 first, then the cars around it
The BMW E30 leads this page: the 1984 to 1991 3 Series is the classic BMW most sellers here actually own, and the one with the broadest following. Around it sits a bench we buy with real interest — the 2002 that started the whole story, the E28 and E34 5 Series, the E24 6 Series coupe, and the big cars, the E32 and E38 7 Series, when they have been kept properly.
These are modern classics, not fifties Americana, and the buying logic is different. A BMW of this era is a precision car with real running costs, and its value lives in how it has been maintained. That is why our expectations below are stated plainly rather than softened.
Excellent condition is the expectation — here is why
For European cars, condition is not one factor among many; it is close to the whole story. A classic BMW with a documented service history, a tight interior, working electrics, and no deferred mechanical work is a car we can value strongly. The same model with years of skipped maintenance can cost more to put right than it is worth, and an honest inspection has to say so.
Mileage matters the same way: lower is better, and a well-kept car shows it. None of this means a lesser car is refused an inspection — it means the offer follows the condition we find, and sellers of genuinely excellent cars should expect that to work in their favour. Our classic car hub sets out the general rules; this page adds the European condition bar on top of them.
Completeness, originality, and getting started
Completeness still comes first: engine, transmission, trim, and interior present, body not rusted through. Originality counts on a BMW — the correct engine, the right wheels and trim, books and tools where they survive. A complete car that does not run can be considered where the rest of the car justifies it, but be aware the excellent-condition expectation applies with full force to a non-runner.
Tell us the model, year, mileage, and service history as honestly as you can. We inspect the car where it sits in the Central Valley, explain what we found, and make an offer from the inspection. Pickup is free and you are paid at pickup if you accept.
How selling a classic works here
Step 1
Tell us about your classic
One short form — year, model, and what is there and what is not. Photos help: the whole car, the engine bay, the interior, and any rust you know about.
Step 2
We inspect it in person
We come to the car and price what we can see — completeness, body and rust, spec, and documentation — not a formula. The offer follows the inspection, and it is guaranteed for 7 days when the car matches.
Step 3
We pick it up, you get paid
Free pickup in the Fresno–Clovis area. You sign, get paid at pickup, and hand over the keys and title — we handle the DMV paperwork after the purchase.
The classic exception: a complete classic that does not run — even one with a dead engine — can still be bought, because pre-computer cars can be overhauled and restoration is part of the process. Incomplete, or rusted through, is where we have to say no.
Classic seller questions
Which classic BMWs do you most want?
The E30 leads, especially the 325is and well-kept coupes — with the M3 in its own league. Behind it: the 2002, E28 and E34, the E24 coupe, and properly kept E32 and E38 big cars.
Why is condition stressed so much for BMWs?
Because on a European car of this era, deferred maintenance can exceed the car's value. An excellent, documented car is worth strong money; the same model neglected is not, and pricing by inspection is how that difference is handled honestly.
Do you buy high-mileage classic BMWs?
We inspect them, with expectations set accordingly. Lower miles and a service history help every European classic here; very high miles without records will be reflected plainly in the offer.
My BMW is complete but not running. Is it a candidate?
Possibly — if the rest of the car is genuinely good. Tell us why it stopped and how it has been stored, and the inspection will decide. An incomplete car or one rusted through remains a no.
